We are voting for our departmental logo!

As was detailed in the announcement last month, we accepted all designs from anyone interested to join this contest (maybe because they really had a good idea, or maybe because they wanted to be part of the fun) for four weeks straight! Our only technical condition was that the designs are vector graphics: we eliminated all non-vector graphics, and some submissions which were not exactly valid for our purposes (consistent with values of METU, bereft of propaganda of any kind, and so on). And now, all candidates are ready, and we are expecting all our students to be part of the decision process: your votes will help us choose our next logo!

Below, you can see the designs: all submission were subjected to the following procedure at GNU Image Manipulation Program before presented here:

  1. They were rasterized at the resolution 200 pixels/in.
  2. They were cropped at 1:1 aspect ratio; if the submitted design contained elements that would not be fit in this aspect ratio, the canvas size is increased appropriately before the cropping.
  3. They were rescaled to 400x400 pixels by using a cubic interpolation.
  4. They were exported to JPEG format at the quality 90%.

All designs are grouped into 22 sets, where sets contain similar candidates (usually designed by the same participant): you will be voting among these sets, and which image from a set will be used as the default logo will be determined later.

Only Physics students are allowed to vote in the first round; you can cast your vote here: https://anket.metu.edu.tr/index.php/341373 (Note that the survey is open till TSI 23:59, Oct 20th)!  The faculty will then vote among the three designs highest-voted-by-the-students!
